Welcome to our VOX Cultural Digest, Issue N.20!
Switzerland was lovely this spring and we want to give you the opportunity to experience more of it in the summer and practise speaking foreign languages at the same time. There are endless things to do in Zurich with plenty of events and festivals happening around town. We’ve put together some of the top highlights from June. These include exhibitions, guided tours, food & drink and so much more.
Zurich Street Food Festival
The Zurich Street Food Festival is back! It offers an amazing journey through the world of food. It opens up a whole new world of culinary delights with food from Ethiopia, Spain, Korea and other countries. It doesn’t matter if you eat meat, are a pescatarian, are vegetarian or vegan; this festival has something to offer for everyone.
Ballet for All
Wow! You’re not going to want to miss this! The free performance will be broadcast live on the big screen at the Opera House on Sechseläutenplatz.
blues’n’jazz Rapperswil-Jona
Looking for a music experience? Head to the Blues’n’Jazz Festival, happening in June in Rapperswill-Jona, for a stimulating weekend of blues’n’jazz.
Fascinating World of Waves
Let yourself be carried away and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of waves – in nature, art, everyday life, and research. Please bring your own headphones, if possible.
Knie Circus
The Knie Circus is back in Zurich again for several days for a great performance. You and your family should not miss these inventive, entertaining and sometimes surreal shows with animals and comedians.
Parks and Gardens
Zurich is home to around 70 parks and green areas, which offer places for people to meet, relax and enjoy themselves and their food. There are lots of benches, trees, and grassy spots for a picnic or gathering with friends.
Monet’s Immersive Garden
Monet’s Immersive Garden is a 360-degree experiential journey through the life and work of one of the greatest artists of the last century. Illusions transform into reality before the viewers’ eyes, transporting the audience to the heart of Monet’s garden.
Secret Space Travel Dinner
A secret dinner for adventurers and gourmands. It will take place somewhere in Zurich and the theme is “Space Travel”!.
In the Forest Exhibition
Check out the new exhibition at the Landesmuseum about our relationship with the forest through representation in literature and art: once exaggerated by the romantics as a safe haven from civilization, artists’ depictions of the forest are today dominated by the subject of climate change.
Unforgettable Experience
Take a train trip a traditional train from Zweisimmen to Montreux: Belle Époque Train, or a trip through the Swiss Grand Canyon an open car train: Erlebniszug.
