What to do in November in Switzerland?

VOX Cultural Digest, Issue N.4

Remember, remember the 5th of November. No, not only the 5th! November is a month full of learning, exploring, and experiencing. Whether you’re looking to learn about different cultures, languages, literature, or exploring different museums and festivals, November has something for everyone. We made a list of festivals in Zurich and around that are taking place in November.

Zurich to eat

Blinde Kuh

Actually not only in November… You don’t need to close your eyes in order to focus on what you hear, taste and feel: it’s completely dark, here! You will be guided by voices and… your instincts in an unforgettable sensorial experience.

The 5: Pop up Restaurant

En guete! 5 chefs, 5 course-menu – for an unforgettable culinary experience.

Slowly getting ready for Christhmas.

Illuminarium

From November 11th meet family, friends and ex-pats and enjoy some Glühwein and typical food while staring at the light show in one of the most popular and suggestive scenarios in Zurich, surrounded by the walls of the Landesmuseum.

Meet Lucy, the Christmas lighting on the Bahnhofstrasse

Don’t miss out on one of the most traditional appointments in Zurich: on November 25th (and until January 6th) at nightfall, all eyes are on the Christmas lights of Bahnhofstrasse.

Zurich for adventurers and dreamers

Escape Rooms

It’s getting cold outside, but this doesn’t mean that we need to stay at home. Did you know that Zurich counts lots of escape rooms? Gather your family and friends, book your favorite one, and practice German / English while challenging your skills!

Schweizer Erzählnacht

An event dedicated to children and grown-up children. On November 12th be ready to be amazed by fairy tales and stories about our planet Earth.

Discover Bern

Zwiebelmarkt Bern: know the Swiss culture

October = Pumpkin? November = Onions! One of Switzerland’s oldest traditions: every year on November’s last Monday (this year, 22nd). Get up early: we start at 6am – and close at 6 pm! Enjoy 12 hours in Switzerland’s capital city and discover Swiss traditions, flavors, music, dialects…

Discover Winterthur

Kurzfilmtage Winterthur

The Swiss short film festival is a great opportunity to train and improve your language skills (German, but not only, since the festival gathers international directors and artists), while gaining insight and reflecting on different aspects and problems of our society and enjoy the best of contemporary filmmaking.

German poetry slam

Discover Winterthur and challenge your language skills: can you follow our local poets in their language acrobatics? You decide who wins!

Thank you for taking the time to read this November digest.
Enjoy your time at these events and share your experiences with your fellow students at VOX-Sprachschule!
