I highly recommend taking your German classes at VOX. And even more so I recommend requesting Alexander Lips as your teacher. Over the last year or so I've taken a few classes with Alexander (B1, B2, C1) and I've waited to make a review as I've been gate keeping his greatness. He is the best language instructor I've ever had and the most passionate. It is hard to stay motivated to study a language and it's hard to attend an evening course after work. But this isn't the case in Alexander's class. His expertise is inspiring. The course was completely tailored to our goals and our motivations. We explored poetry, books and presentations, all of which was frankly fun and enriching. We learned grammar, practiced speaking and reading, all while learning about history and art. I can also say I've read two books in German now which is super satisfying and it also gives me more to talk about to my friends in German. If anything I wish I had more time to learn and take advantage of Alexander's great instruction. Another very unique skill of Alexander's is his deep understanding of etymology and applying the skill to make words stick in your mind. He can break down words into components to then make connections to others words, languages, history, or stories. He shows the patterns to look for to do the same. There are words I'll never forget because he took the time to really give us the depth of the word. Such a talent to have! Huge thank you to VOX for such great organization and a huge thank you to Alexander for all the work and care he puts in his instruction. So, if you've read to here you should really go register already for a course!

My experience with VOX was fantastic. I did a 2 month private online course with Isabel and I was amazed at how much I actually learned in such a short time. She is a very skilled teacher and the lessons were always relaxed and friendly. When I struggled with some of the concepts she was able to really explain the intricate details In an easy way that really helped me progress and really understand what I was learning. I will definitely continue on with VOX and Isabel, I highly recommend their services for learning German.

The schools is very accommodating of my schedule and preferences. Overall it has been a great experience. I am very happy with my classes with Natalie. She strikes the right balance between grammar and speaking practice. She takes my feedback into consideration and I very much enjoy the learning experience. She is an excellent teacher, patient, knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. She makes learning fun and is definitely one of my all-time favorite teachers! I always look forward to my German classes.

After a few courses at VOX, studying German, I can only recommend it for: 1) the quality / professionalism of the teaching (always prepared, hand-outs if necessary, follow-ups over email if a class is missed and topics / words / concepts promptly addressed the following lessons); 2) flexibility of the teaching and administration; 3) small class size (one of my main selection criteria) which allows for a good practice / feedback for all students; 4) convenient location close to HB (which was a big plus when you are trying to strike a balance with work and other chores). I'm currently taking an in-person German class with Lise, and the experience has been excellent. Lise is an amazing teacher—very supportive and always brings a lot of energy to the lessons. We have a lot of fun while learning, and I've gained so much from her classes. She uses a wide range of materials, including articles, special notes, and videos, which keeps things interesting and interactive. I highly recommend her as a teacher!

VOX-Sprachschule is top notch. My teacher, Alexander, is always able to answer my questions. His expertise in languages and teaching really shows. Unlike other German courses I've attended, I really enjoyed and looked forward to this one 2x per week. The lessons and homework kept me motivated. The flexibility and personalized learning objectives of the individual lessons was really worth the extra cost for me. I've signed up to take the course again.
